Funeral Director Claire Ward volunteered some of her time at St Mary & St Peters Church on Monday 22nd July at their community lunch.
People from the local community can go for a two-course lunch provided by the church and games of bingo. They have a menu that people can choose from, and they get to take an additional meal and dessert home to have the next day.
Claire said: “I helped serve the meals to the ladies and gentlemen this afternoon, had a chat with them at their tables and even met with a few people I have conducted funerals for over the years. It was lovely to catch up with them.
I will be collecting donations for their weekly bingo.”
Rev Katherine Bagnall and Rev Susan Sweeting are looking for donations of packets of biscuits, washing up liquid, and cleaning products. Anyone wishing to donate these items can do so at any John Hogg funeral home.
